So yesterday was the 1 year milestone for Elmo & I. I had to work a little late, but afterward, I came home, showered, and got ready for our anniversary date! We went to The Tulsa and saw UP. It was just as good as everyone said it was. We both really enjoyed it. We enjoyed the mini-movie beforehand even more, I think.

We got popcorn with lots of butter. The girl went NUTS! Our popcorn was drowning in butter. It was actually kind of gross. By the time I was done, I had butter all over my hand! We also shared a Mr Pibb. I haven't had caffeine but maybe once since discovering that I am pregnant. The baby went crazy! lol He(?) was kicking for a long time afterward. I love it at this point, so it was great.

After the movie, we went to Red Lobster for dinner, though we discussed other restaurants we want to try in the future. I think Red Lobster has fancied themselves up a bit (or tried anyway). Then we grabbed our movie rentals from home to return and pick out more movies. We came home and watched My Bloody Valentine together. We did no internet-ing while together on our anniversary. It was really nice to spend our day just focused on each other and being together. We reminisced about the past year. We're very happy together and are matched so well!

Le sigh. Happy Anniversary, love!

We managed to get to bed only about ½ an hour late last night. Elmo's kidney stone has been... acting up for the last day or two. He woke me up an hour early (2am) this morning to take him back to the ER. He was hurting pretty bad. So off we went...

We were both dreading calling Tony about missing work. Jim has been on vacation and Tony has been under major stress. (Plus we lost 5 people at the end of last week.) Anyway, they weren't quite as rushed to take care of Elmo this time, but he wasn't moaning in pain this time.

We had a really great nurse (for part of it anyway). They got him an IV, some morphine, and took more CT Scans. Then... they finished telling him that there was nothing they could do for him at all. They said he really needed to follow up with a urologist. The scans showed that the stone hasn't really moved at all. His last visit was two weeks ago.

I rushed into work and did my first-half shift stuff with 1½ hour less time. I still had to take a lunch break because... baby has to eat. I texted Elmo to see if he needed food, but got no response (he was asleep). When I got home, though, he said he needed food. So I headed out for food & to pick up scrips. Just before I got home, Elmo called. The apartment sent an Exterminator over! He insisted that the office had given us notice. I have pet spiders!! I need notice before an exterminator comes!! I called the office and pitched a FIT, but there wasn't really anything they could do. By then the guy had already sprayed our kitchen. The spiders live in the dining room and Elmo was moving them, but the guy was already done. If my spiders get ill (and die)... I'll be following up with the Apartment Manager, that is for sure! Ugh. I didn't have any time to find / get them to an alternate home. They stayed gone for a few weeks last time!

Back at work I finally got a call from the doc's office and they couldn't see him until June 16th. I fell apart. I was sitting there, at work... in the office, on the phone, bawling. Fun, right? Sarah came over and rubbed my back and offered to get me tissues. Lia came and hugged me. The girls were sweet, but man I was upset. That is TWO weeks away! He is in pain NOW. The ER was pretty much useless, other than running up more bills. I manged to regain my composure enough to leave the building. I cried a little more. Called my mom and fell apart again.

I picked up Veronica and took her to my apartment. After eating, I started making more calls. I found an urologist that will see him tomorrow! Then I had to work out getting our hands on his CT Scans and reports. That was turning out to be a bit tricky, but the lady in radiology was VERY helpful and we went to get them this afternoon! The ride in the car was horrible for Elmo and he was terribly sick by the time we got back home. I stubbed my toes on my own chair a couple of times. ugh. His report seems to suggest he has TWO stones!

Now I've taken Veronica home. Fetched dinner for us, though Elmo doesn't seem to be able to eat it at all. I'm watching American Swing while I type this. It is a documentary about the Swing movement beginning in the 70's, mostly about Plato's Retreat. I'll be taking him to the doctor in the morning. I hope they have some idea of how to help him.
