msjorje: (eyes)
I went this morning for my MRI. I had to pay nearly $100 up front and give them a post-dated (I thought that was illegal?) check for 2 weeks out for the other half. I think I was more nervous about dropping $200 than the MRI itself. I mean... how bad could it be?

The machine was SO LOUD! Thankfully, since I wasn't having my head scanned, I was given headphones and got to choose a radio station. I only had to be in the tube (and lie still) for 20-30 minutes. It was really not that bad.

I go back to see the Orthopedist on Monday. While I'd love that $200 to have counted for something, I do hope there is nothing else wrong with my right knee (the one they scanned today).
msjorje: (mommy 2)
I think it was my Stepmother that said Sasha would likely walk early. I thought it was a bit silly and early to predict. I understand the law of averages, but I really figured it would have to be pretty close to the 1 year mark. Sasha has been doing very well learning to walk. Today she just... took off! She goes slowly and with care... and she doesn't walk in a straight line on her own. But she is very steady and... just amazing!

Meanwhile, her teeth are bothering her a lot! She has cut the bottom right tooth and the top left. The top right and bottom left are now duking it out to see which will make it first. She has almost completely stopped biting my breast, too. Pressing her face into my breast when she bit me seems to have really done the trick!
msjorje: (pregnancy)
The more I think about trying for another child (trying for a boy), the more I itch to be pregnant again. It is a little too soon yet, but it has been on my mind a lot lately. So... I've dug out my old chart files and requested the Natural Family Planning book as well as the Choose the Sex book from the library. So, I'll begin the research again so I'll be ready when we're really ready. I've always thought it would be novel to get pregnant on purpose. heh

I've also been thinking about gardening. Once we get moved to our new place next month, I'd like to set up some planters (lined milk crates) and try my hand at a couple of vegetables. I have several gardening books requested from the library, especially on the topics of container gardening and square foot gardening.
