We're mostly moved now. We (Elmo, with Brandon's help) started Wednesday afternoon. Let me just say, if you ever lose 250 square feet, do not doubt: you will notice the space lost! So far, I really like the new place. There is a huge pile of crap I need to go through and get rid of, but otherwise... our living room is reminiscent of a dorm. When you walk through our front door, the first piece of furniture you encounter is our BED to the right. Our desk is to the left (straight ahead, really). Then our dresser is next to the bed, followed by the couch (what is left of it). The dining room is so small as to be pointless.
The bedroom is huge, though. I arranged Tyler's bedroom suite in there so that she is still about as cramped as we are. So half of her room is basically storage at this point.
The bathroom is ridiculous! The vanity is in Tyler's room and then there is a door into a room with just barely enough space for a tub and toilet. You practically have to sit on the toilet paper on your way down to the seat. It is downright silly, but just makes me think of an RV bathroom. :-)
I'm not sure I quite knew what I was getting into when I signed up for this move as far as loss of space, but I still think this will be good for us: financially as well as motivation to downsize our junk.
